Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET), also known as and computerized cognitive behavioral therapy (CCBT), is the use of virtual reality technology for psychological or occupational therapy.Patients receiving virtual reality therapy navigate through digitally created environments and complete specially designed tasks often tailored to treat a specific ailment. It is widely used as an alternative form of exposure therapy (VIVO) and imagination therapy.
VRET is considered by far the safest phobia treatment method out there. The VR experience feels real although technically it isn’t, which minimizes physical risk and risk of further traumatization. It is also more affordable and more feasible compared to VIVO exposure therapy, and in terms of realism, it is more realistic than imagination therapy.
Approximately an estimated 3–5% of the general population suffers from acrophobia, according to livescience.com, and 26% of the people we surveyed said they suffered from some form of acrophobia. We attempted to tackle this ailment by implementing the acrophobia level. In this level the patient is placed on a relatively high building, the height increases as the level progresses, and is asked to move from the current building to the next one. The only way to do so is to walk across a plank of wood connecting the two buildings together, the width of the plank is relative to the condition of the patient.
This level is currently being tested and will be available shortly.
Our product is a VR application based on a mobile platform that helps patients suffering from phobias and other related psychological disorders (like social anxiety, PTSD, etc.) by means of Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET). Its aim is to present a powerful tool that helps patients overcome these disorders, disabling them from doing essential day-to-day tasks and leading them to avoidance behavior. It’s a venture into merging basic psychotherapy with Virtual Reality.
We are the leading in mobile therapy. Our product is easy to use, affordable and hassle-free, and this is exactly what therapists and patients are looking for.
